I joined the Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist on April 1, 2015. I am currently taking advanced photography and journalism classes at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. Before matriculating to Syracuse, I was stationed on USS George H.W. Bush (CVN77) in Norfolk, VA and made one combat deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf. My next adventure lies at Pearl Harbor and I can't wait to use my newly developed skills and see what challenges Hawaii brings me.
A small selection of some of my favorite photos from the past two semesters. We were certainly challenged to create some nice frames and after pushing ourselves, I feel like we all succeeded.
This is what the setup can look like while we try to get that perfect shot, a lot more goes into getting the shot than one may think.
Sometimes we even have some fun while doing assignments! Typically this happens when we are so burned out from work that we are delirious, but still, fun nonetheless!
