About Me

I am Marine Sgt. Shaehmus R. Sawyer. I was born in Newbury Port, MA, December 14, 1994. I moved to Cape Coral, FL, when I was just a few months old. I have 6 siblings, and I married my high school sweet heart, Lilian Sawyer, right before enlisting into the Marine Corps. I enlisted as a combat correspondant.

I left for MCRD Parris Island, S.C., in early 2015 and got to my first duty station in the last quarter of that year. Marine Corps Recruit Depot was my first placement, and I stayed there for about three years, where I earned the rank of sergeant. In that time frame, I had my first child, Maeve. I recieved orders to Marine Corps Base Quantico for the next year, during which I had my boy, Mickey.

I applied to the Military Visual Journalism program and left for Syracuse University in 2019. During 2019, my military occupational specialty was discontinued and I became a videographer in the Marine Corps.

I recieved orders to Camp Lejuene, II MIG, and I'll see what my future holds for me and my family.

Family

Is the most important thing to me. Everything I do is for them. Lilian supports me through the military, which is huge for our family, but I hope one day I can repay her for her time and effort she gives to me and our kids.

I enjoy

Learning new things and broadening my experience and knowledge with technical skills. Vodeography, photography, drawing, animation, woodworking, cooking etc.

I'd like to

Learn the Irish Gaelic language at some point, learn how to play an instrument, and try to learn new things as I move throughout my career and life.

My dream

Is to open up an authentic, genuine tavern, stone and wood place with a great atmosphere for family and friends. I can't explain it justice here but know it's going to happen!

Thank you for taking a look at my work!
